30 x 30'' Original Oil painting on 1.5'' deep wood cradled panel. This is the first painting I made for the Ingrained series to kick it off. I wanted to play with symmetry and the idea of Rorschach ink blots as inspiration for the paintings.
This painting was created layer by layer in an indirect method - there is a black and white underpainting then transparent color was glazed over in multiple layers. Creating theses large compositions on clear coated wood panels took a great deal of planning and sketching to execute cleanly.
